About

An independent practice with institutional reach.

tracee is a consulting practice based in Paris, working at the intersection of digital assets and AI. The firm advises banks, multilateral funds, and digital asset platforms on the architecture choices that shape how institutional money moves, settles, and earns over the next decade.

The practice was founded by Bassel Assaad, an engineer and inventor with 29 patents across five jurisdictions, a doctoral background in IT and systems, and roughly five years working at the intersection of institutional blockchain strategy, humanitarian finance, and regulated digital asset infrastructure.

tracee was originally built as a stablecoin payment infrastructure on Stellar and was recognized by the Circle Impact Competition. The practice has since evolved into a focused consulting firm, retaining the technical depth of an infrastructure builder while operating at the strategic altitude of a board advisor.

Current mandates include advising a UN multilateral climate fund on digital payment and AI infrastructure across six Central African countries, and serving as capital and product architect for a digital asset platform with a South African footprint. The founder lectures on blockchain at the Sorbonne, Mines ParisTech, and Collège de Paris.

tracee operates as a small, deliberate practice. Engagements are scoped tightly, priced openly, and led personally. The firm does not subcontract, does not sell software, and does not take referral fees. The output is judgment, written down, that institutions can act on.
